Hook rules. Stop trying to make it a bad movie.

“When your mother Ungoliant was your age she had destroyed the two trees of Valinor. What have you done? Just hung out in your goth lair hoping for orcs and things to wander in?”

okay guys hear me out: a six hour two-part Tom Bombadil movie!

In the game the characters wear gas masks because of spores for such a small amount of time that this excuse is laughable.

Ends the same, but the families come together in grief and then a waiter slips on a banana peel and falls face first into a lemon meringue pie.

OK, who do we want for Feyd-Rautha? I’ll start: Rami Malek.

This felt like a discussion of the cast rather than the film.

As a millennial of a certain age I couldn’t be sicker of the Lewinsky scandal. Adults wouldn’t shut the fuck up about it as I was growing up, and I had to listen to years of hacky jokes from late night comedians and sanctimonious speeches from hypocritical Republicans. Clinton was a scummy, manipulative sex pest,

I’ve reached the point with Tarantino where I’m so, so tired of schtick. I’m tired of him thinking that his glorification of violence and racism is au courant or cutting edge. Tarantino films announce themselves in a way that strikes as more about ego than art. I’m sure people will disagree with that opinion, but

Are you focusing on the fact that it took him so long to understand that it is wrong (which is more common the older a person is, and he is 50). Or are you referring to the fact that despite his upbringing and age, he is still learning and evolving as a person?
Its a rhetorical question, as I never look back at old

Part of me feels like you should have waited till tomorrow to post this.

I’m super excited to half-watch this hungover on TBS in three years.

i take it you haven’t spent as many hours kissing mirrors in drag as i have.

Oh no! I...didn’t know any of these shows existed.

I’ll be sure to change the headline to “5 best moments from Conan and Jordan’s heady melange of bafflement, fascination, exasperation, contempt, and affection”

Rogan is a moron and completely full of shit. He operates under the guise of being some kind of libertarian but he embraces the worst of the worst that the far right has to offer, Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens, Alex fucking Jones. Anyone who attempts to defend his stupidity can get bent

I’m both shocked and disappointed by the apparently large overlap between AV Club Commentariat and Joe Rogan defenders.

I’m going to dissect this bullshit one bit at a time:

Did we read the same review? It articulated why the movie failed in the eyes of the reviewer quite clearly, and quite clearly it was not because it was violent. I interpreted it as the reviewer feeling that it was working hard at being speculative - ie, plausible near nonfiction (‘it’s practically happening today!”) -
