The Redwall books by Brian Jacques! They're not picture books (though there might be picture versions, who knows), but they're brilliant and adorable and I loved them around age 9. The characters are all animals, so no need to worry about white protagonists. (There might be mice and rats but this isn't Maus.)

So it's not a matter of love. (The only time the word came up was when you said he loves his family.) In that case, I think he's probably sincere about being okay with you seeing others, or at least willing to find out if he is after he does it.

What it's like to be attracted to someone? I don't know if you mean crush/infatuation, desire to fuck, or something else, but I'm going to assume you mean the first.

"Since he can't commit to being a full-on "boyfriend" (complicated family issues), he doesn't want to keep me from finding that if that's what I want."

To keep abreast of international news in the most time efficient manner I can think of: (1) subscribe to Foreign Policy's morning brief and read it each morning, skimming (at least) the articles linked to; (2) read at least the front page of the NYT; (3) get AP news alerts on your phone, which will arrive like texts

Yes, Katie, why not link to a video of a woman being raped that was released without her consent? After all, it's already on YouTube. Let's work to help it get as many views as possible! You did say to click with caution because the footage might disturb us, and our delicate feelings are obviously the only reason to

But in the first tweet she seems to be objecting to the "one man" idea by saying: "one word: bullshit." Like — the, uh, mans, are different mans and not one man. But maybe you take "one word: bullshit" to be her describing someone else's view? And her view is that the evil media makes us think Al Queda and the CIA are

Maybe they don't want to bang rando-skanks anymore, but fuck (or "make love to") the love of their lives and the mother/father of their children? Maybe they realized the cheating was a mistake? I know it's easy to assume that people who cheat don't truly love their families (or anyone but themselves) and are just

Me too.

"Glorious"! Exactly.

What the hell is M.I.A. talking about?

Interesting. Thanks for writing all that out!

Aren't women's reproductive health and abortion rights two of the issues that simply wouldn't affect trans women? I can understand them wanting to change the conversation around virtually every female-specific issue *except* those.

Relative infrequency of female orgasm predates widespread vibrator use. The real issues are indifferent, ignorant partners, massive privileging of PiV sex that ends with the male orgasm, porn teaching men how to fuck in a way that completely discounts the woman's experience, society shaming women for being sexual and

Loathe them.

I DO NOT FIND IT CUTE.

Hahaha.

Coincidence. If not...cats have great hearing and that was metal on metal.

Ha. I'm glad I asked the question because I lived in South Korea for a few years — about a decade ago.

Anyone know a good article/resource on *why* some mainstream feminists feel animosity towards trans women?
