Okay, so the most often I see a Harley badge on the road is on the side of a FOrd F-150. Go out into the mountains of NC and I’ll see a Harley edition F-150 with a trailer hauling a couple Yamaha ATV’s or Honda UTV’s in it ALL.DAY.LONG.
Ok, sure, but its still a lot of money! Just struck me as an example of the dissonance within capitalism. HD is constantly talked about as its near death and yet its pulling in hundreds of millions of (on paper) profit.
That’s like blaming Ford for the BroDozer fad. H-D actually stopped selling loud exhausts way back in 2008 or 2009. They took a $40 million profit hit when they did.

You might be correct in terms of “engine displacement” and “general size”, but among engine people, the SBC and the LS are two completely different animals and almost no people actually in the business will refer to an LS as a “small block”.
An LS is closer to a SBF, than a SBC.
For being what? slower?
Aren’t these impossible to get in the US? Hence the LS swap...
If there were no additional cost, no additional effort, and no additional driveability issues, it wouldn’t be so common. The fact it is as common as it is, across an absurd plethora of platforms pretty much entirely refutes your argument.
I have an odd feeling that shipping may be a wee bit high
This is the problem with the Barra:
The Barra has an iron block and long crankshaft. And it’s in OZ.
I have a Magna-charged .030" over LQ4 in my ‘79 Delta 88, Bubba. It...
