Automated dual-clutch transmission is far different than an slush box automatic. Hence why actual car people and manufacturers will not call a DCT an automatic. I agree with them.

ZF is one of the best autos made, and one of the fastest shifting, yet it’s over twice as slow as Tremec’s DCT.

By your logic, the ecoboost F150 would not be selling well. (could not be more wrong).  They’re more expensive, complex, and they sound worse than the 5.0 but people buy ecoboosts over 5.0s by a giant margin.

In addition, I never heard or read of more than a few people complain about. I would be shocked if the subject got 1% of the complaints, focus, and press that it does today.  The american public is soooo manipulated one these social issues it’s mind boggling.  It’s sad that more people take a step back and ask why.
