You can’t fault Green Bay, Houston, or Baltimore for not signing him before the season because none of those three teams were in a position to want a backup who can challenge for the starting job. Rodgers is probably the best QB in the game, Houston just drafted a guy who’s going to get a minimum of three years to

I agree that Kaepernick is being blackballed and it’s a shame, but let’s not hyperbolize here. Going into this season, the number of teams for whom Kaepernick would have been a clear upgrade was maybe 6-8, tops. Injuries have increased that number, but you have to balance that against what Kaepernick’s performance

This is reminiscent of Marc Trestman benching Cutler for Clausen in 2014: a doomed coach who completely lost his team benches a mediocre QB for a terrible one who shouldn’t even be in the NFL, for no apparent reason. And he won’t get fired before the end of the season because his team’s dipshit owners think there’s

Yup...it’s a little mystifying to me that Deadspin of all places wants to pile on the young head coach without even considering the possibility that his dysfunctional owner/front office have put him in an impossible position.

Calling the Bulls an NBA team seems like a bit of a stretch.

You don’t understand what the word “bigot” means.

I heard he will presumably be the only MVP in NBA history not to make the Hall of Fame. Everyone else who won it is either in or a virtual lock to be once they’re eligible. Says a lot about Rose.

This is Sheldon, the four-legged love of my life. When my wife’s out of town he lays on her side of the bed and stares at me when he thinks it’s time to get up.

To be clear, I am not saying that I think Gabby Douglas is a vile person. I do believe that what she said remains vile and would be regardless of who said it or what their life was like.

Empathy along with anger, sure. But the fact that she was a victim herself doesn’t completely excuse the vile victim-blaming comments she made. It’s like when someone who was virulently homophobic later admits it was because they were gay and unwilling to admit it...does it illuminate some of the reasons for their

The thing is, and I will stop short of defending Trump on this because I will not take his side on anything, why shouldn’t LaVar Ball be extremely grateful (as well as ashamed as hell of what his stupid kid did) that the US government intervened?

Big difference between a 13-year-old and an adult. (Though, thanks for not referring to them as “kids” which so many people have been doing).

That’s a fair point about the detriments of long commutes, but nowadays living in the city is no guarantee that you’ll be close to your job. For example, my wife and I work at opposite ends of our city and while our jobs are both technically within the city limits, they’re as far away from downtown as you can get.

That was the Bears-est challenge in NFL history.

It feels like the setup for a spin-off that is laughably inferior to the original. I said to my wife that episode 7 was like watching a bad Fox show compared to the genius that is the rest of the series.
