I suppose the 5-button/10-digit pad exists in such fashion so that in setting your own memorable code, all digits (0 thru 9) are available while keeping the pad size minimal (last 5 of phone number, address, SS number etc. Or just spelling ‘BOOBS’ - 80085.)
