Great post and I agree. I’m a season ticket holder for an NHL franchise and I had to “opt in” to receive proper paper tickets this year (with photos of players, etc).

I live in South Jersey and love where I live in South Jersey, but I totally understand not wanting to visit.  The only reason why people live in New Jersey, at all, is because of it’s proximity to other, more interesting places.

I think, of the 4 major sports leagues, that MLB is probably the worst, in terms of being progressive, so the idea that baseball lifers like DiPoto and Servais are terrible people seems to be on brand.

I’ve heard a couple of interviews with Hoge about this book and he comes off as the kid that just started a Philosophy 101 class and starts pontificating on what Nietzsche was really trying to say in “Untimely Meditations”.
