I actually looked at this when I got a Canyon. I think the difference was 4” or 6” between old trucks and new ones. It isn’t just the bed loading height but the bed side height got taller too. And that was apparently a common request from owners.

Hood heights, engine bays and lower body cladding (for increased aerodynamics) all contribute to these trucks looking bigger.
