Florida has a history of HOAs due to two facts: One, they actively attracted elderly and retired people, require common area maintenance standards to be written for any development approval. Two, Florida cities are notoriously against infrastructure maintenance, so they will force an HOA to be put in place to keep

You should not be allowed to tell anyone what they can and can’t do with their property. Zoning and HOA conditions are a leading cause of housing shortages, high prices & rents, and are a modern form of redlining.

IANAL - But I’d really like to know what the legal implications of this are. I would think this could put them under arrest in NY. But after they left the area, who knows.
Whatever this is, it is shit. The intent of the emergency orders is very clear. Shelter in place. Don’t go on vacation.

I don’t get the rise of sky walker hate. I actually thought of all the Disney episodes it made the MOST sense. Granted I have only seen the 3 hour extended edition cut. There were some unnecessary things in it. Butting was at least 2x better than episode 7 and 598x better than episode 8.

To be fair getting these things built quickly IS a priority and it sounds to me like we are getting caught up in the paperwork. I think GM is doing its best to be a weasel with a cost+ contract when it should just be a GO. And let the bean counters pick up the pieces later.

It may be unpopular but I think THIS is the right approach. Instead of laying off the bottom third and hoping you can replace talented people when they come back, an across the board reduction can keep people employed. Give them a sense of security and allow the company to weather the storm.

Shit. We would have picking up a few of those next month if it weren’t for this. Maybe in June.

got alot of job security huh?

I think its tat Republicans recognize if business doesn’t run, people don’t eat in this country.

ButWhy has a great point. It might be crazy / scary for your wife to do this, but she could probably very easily move to NY or California right now, get on the front lines AND get what she deserves for the work. Hell, if you are remote, you may be able to go with her and support her emotionally and at home.

And Elon Musk received $513m in compensation last year. Honestly $14.5m after a GOOD year is probably deserved. And looking at FCA’s 2019 consolidated statement they spent $11 Billion in general costs & R&D.

Why?

I actually work for a “big corporate” landlord. We’re doing alot more than KB for renters. We just take it as a case by case basis, in fact we have to due to privacy laws.

A lot of elderly people are landlords and use it as a supplement to social security. Not much, but there is a reason the ADA and FHA don’t apply to properties with less than 4 units.

Empty hotels would be 1000x easier to use then existing cruise ships.

As someone who builds housing, both SF and MF, it is actually REALLY easy. It takes us Ofer 1-2 years just to get through the NIMBY process. Cut that out and I know I could deliver 30 units of housing a month.

There are 3 things I don’t want to run out of as someone with an 11 month old. Toilet paper, diapers, and baby wipes.

I used to agree with that. But a few of our smaller teams just got 3-4 portals and set them up next to their home work desks and just left them on. No need to schedule a conference call or anything you just look over and start talking to your teammate. Actually works real well.

I mean this is one side affect of America’s decentralization/ white flight in the 50’s. We have far fewer close proximity contacts on a daily basis than in other countries, even Western Europe. The commuting culture and physical separation means that we can impose a sort of self-quarantine easily and are remote enough
