355 AWG would have been a Northern CA-issued plate from 1970, so those are purely decorative (or borrowed from one of the owner’s other cars. No smog record on the number, of course. DMV site checks out the number as issued to a ‘70 280 SEL.

Seems like a Nice Price except if the “diplomat” story means this is some sort of gray-market import that hasn’t got a snowball’s chance of passing smog in CA (which also may explain the Vegas CL posting?).
