The greatest markup I have seen would be Disney when they were selling prosecco for their food and wine event. The price per glass was something like $8, I could get the same bottle for $7 at Wine and More. I would also expect (since they were moving a large volume) they also got a better price than that.

Like any measuring tool, some are just more accurate than others. Not all are calibrated the same way, and some are just off. This might not matter for some cookies, but it can make a huge difference with delicate and complex pastries and treats.
