It’s all about perception. “I had two slices of breakfast pizza and grape juice” sounds much less shitty than “I had 1/4 of a pizza for breakfast and some wine”.

Somewhat related: I just remembered that Hickory Farms used to sell CHEESE FUDGE at the mall kiosks. Oh man that shit was glorious.

That was also the first time I met a girl from Laos.

The early 2000s were weird as fuck.

You gotta go eventually. Laugh and grow fat.

Dear Claire’s boyfriend,

You have been informed.

it’s science

Remember in “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” when they found the oatmeal cream pie and they could have eaten it forever?

I wouldn’t mind being shrunk down and stuck on this plate and eating that pie toast forever

can we get some burgers and crunchy golden stellas and just sit on the beach

maybe also some clams or assorted shellfish

it’s a horrible movie until you realize it’s supposed to be a horrible kung fu movie full of stereotypes on both sides. The dialogue is so over the top and wonderful. easily one of my favorites.

i mean she introduces herself as “Gracie Law, I’m a lawyer!”

Once the frost is gone

yes i call it “a constant state of bliss”

oh man i broke the rules and now i am watching big trouble in little china and it is the BEST

nope none currently, only stocking Fee Bros. at the moment (mega sale woooo)

Angostura are damn fine, both Thomas and Scrappy’s are excellent as well.

I don’t think that bitters are an acquired taste, like many alcohol types. They’re either good, or they’re not. You can get a bottle for $8 and it might be ok at best, but as someone who almost exclusively drinks whisky and whisky cocktails

Over time and in a tight enough container, the apple can.. ferment and impart some flavor to your food.

I recommend a piece of white sandwich bread balled up tight. Doesn’t taste like much to begin with, and the “actual bread” brands like, Pepperidge Farm for example, do a much better job gathering up excess moisture.

  • Reheating Leftovers: Leftover steak, leftover pizza (I think I saw a comment to this effect on the cheese sauce post), leftover pasta, even leftover cheese sauce from last week: these are all good candidates for sous-vide reheating.

I used 6 boxes for my birthday dinner this year because it was on sale. Well worth the effort.

I think that at least a tip set and coupler is worth having even if you’re going with zip-tops though. Makes it much more maneuverable.

Yeah but it has to GO into the bag, and that’s just an extra step between you and diabetes.

Zip-top storage bags work, but they don’t hold as much at the same angle and it’s.. annoying. I’m spoiled - I’ve taken enough pastry bags home over the years from restaurants I worked in that I could open a store selling them.
