I can comfortably say that virtually zero Ferrari buyers are choosing any of the brand’s models because they are hybrids. If Ferrari were to launch some naturally aspirated, fully analogue rival to a 911 S/T, buyers would be selling whatever appendages and organs they don’t need to operate the car just to get one.

A Prowler wouldn’t be batshit insane but it would be batshit dangerous, which might even be better.

Big agree. And I have one. I bought it for 23 before anyone was paying attention, and I’d probably get 65 for it today - and it’s only really nice and honest, not great. They’ve generally got only about 200 hp, the steering is really heavy in daily driving, and I have to think hard about where to park it. Porsche made

Toyota Supra. They are selling for over 100k nowadays.

Most 90s jdm cars. R34s and Supras are cool, but not hundreds of thousands of dollars cool. I understand that most examples don’t go for that much, but there’s no reason a skyline should cost over a quarter million dollars.

Decided to get a proper Yamaha for it instead.

oil change is scheduled every 9,000 miles, with the valve clearance check every 18,000 miles

And there is so much more to engine “power” than just how much power it has.

Anyone remember the Osborne Effect? I wonder if that’s happening here.

How about we appreciate the cars for what they are, and leave your personal feelings about others’ political views out of it.  So sick of this site’s politics on their sleeves...

An automatic Diesel Chevette with zero options. NO AC. Slow as molasses in the Arctic and during the summer they get to bake as they take forever to get to where they need to get to.

i still think you’re being generous

Common parts - pads / shocks / filters etc are still on the shelves at regular autopart stores, everything else is available online. The 2.3 engine was used on the 9-5 as well.

And being that it’s AUS, they have to count the money upside down in the presence of killer snakes and poison jellyfish, while fending off boxing roos and barking koala bears.

Manual Transmissions in normal cars.

I’m going to blame most of this on the dealerships.

I had to wait about 19 months for my Maverick, but you can actually get them at the stated prices from reputable dealers if you go that route. I was lucky enough to get a 2022 Hybrid, the truly affordable “$20k” XL (ends up a bit more with some no-brainer options and destination and whatnot). It’s my favorite car

As well you should.  He was, after all, you first friend on MySpace.
