Me: paid off college loans, kids going to private school, mortgage less than 14% of take-home pay... and I still didn’t feel great about taking out a 48 month loan on my dream car kid-hauler (‘15 Chevy SS) at $350/mo payment

Coworker, 22yrs old, just finished college: I’m buying a 2021 Chevy 2500HD! YOLO!

True story.

As a current owner of a Chevy SS w/ the 6.2L LS3, I voted NP and here’s why. The modifications are standard for a 6.0 LS motor. Wheels, coilovers and window tint also common and easily changed to someone’s preference.

These cars can take tons of abuse and keep going and going...

It’s a 4-door, rwd, w/ one of the most

I believe Gordon Murray is the greatest automotive engineer of our lifetime. The boundaries he pushed with Brabham, the McLaren F1, and now this is truly extraordinary .

As a mechanical engineer, two of my favorite stories from his time designing / spec’ing the F1 are:

RE: Salvage Title Worth It?  -  I was able to pick up an e46 330ci manual with 100k, with m3 suspension, m3 brakes, m3 wheels, cooling upgrades, etc... for $4k. Rich dude had bought the salvage title 330ci from his son and had it built better than new. It was a very good deal for me.

+1  Can confirm. My kids love driving in my [new to us] SS.

I just picked up a Chevy SS (sedan) with an auto because the manual trans cars command a hefty premium.  But I can see your statement being true for more common cars, say a mustang or sim.

His work on the ‘93 F1 is an absolute masterpiece. I watched & read everything about that car that I can... his attention to detail is beyond anything else short of space shuttles.

Hell yeah! Preach it fellow Gordon Murray aficionado!

it was literally the first time that I’ve ever driven a car that begged me to pull over, shut it off, get out and walk.

Over 20m. Prices on the F1 have been going bonkers the last few years.

True. I learned this lesson the hard way by purchasing a CBR600 as my first bike at 19 years old.

What’s wrong with an 883 sportster as a first bike? Sure it’s 500lbs but so are most cruisers. Sure a Rebel 250 is a “better” starter bike, but it’s only good for about 1-2 months before you’re ready to upgrade to keep up with the flow of traffic.  Lots (LOTS!!) of people start with an 883 as a starter bike and do

Fantastic critical thinking skills. Once you understand what parts are not a “critical components, your options expand greatly on what you can do to fix / get by.

...two chicks at the same time

That’s one fat-ass bitch for a track bike!

Bradley is single-handedly making this site a political shit show and pissing off half of the readership. Please find another venue to be a prick.

PAINFUL EXPERIENCE. I was 23yo, found a motorcycle I wanted to buy (‘05 R1). It was 5hrs away so I talked the guy into meeting me half way. We met at a gas station at 9pm in rural Kansas where two country roads met, but not another building in sight.

This sentence surprised me as well. The automatic has to be tuned like an ‘80s econobarge turd to be 0.5s slower than a manual.

The A110 is good enough that it’s been Gordon Murray’s daily driver for a few years now. By this standard alone, this car has got to be amazing.

*If you don’t know who Gordon Murray is, please leave your card at the door and see yourself out.

Having also owned a 748, absolutely anything is more comfortable than that bike. Couldn’t wait to get off after 30+ minutes of riding.
