At least in one VAG car (vw polo GTI), it's possible to replace the instrument cluster, and the mileage is somehow stored in there. I know this because they stole mine, and the dealer had to call me for the last known mileage so they could program it in there. Also key codes are in there, that why they steal them.

Last summer I went on a "greenlane" day with a few guys. I ended up following/racing a G350 Benz. We were an hour faster than the next competitor, I drive a Kangoo 4x4 so I was quite proud of that.

I'll go to the local Audi dealership then and order myself a new Quattro. Just in case.

Imma go with this Urquattro, 4 hours left. It has some small problems, but sounds solid. For this kind of money, you could easlily import it to the US. I'm pretty sure this will not lose a lot of value.
