Did comic canon ever answer if Batman killed the Joker or not at the end of the story? If not, and this is the first continuation of story, it will be interesting to see how that scene is handled.

The rogue element of the Doctor was always great. Nothing special about him other than his desire to get off that crusty planet of Time Lords and go on an adventure. Moffat understood that which is why so much of his time focused on the Doctor’s running away.
