I know it’s not popular around here to disparage the gig workers, but they all bought into a system where they would come in and smash (disrupt *eye roll*) existing industries by undercutting them on price and regulatory burden by using VC $billions to make up the difference.

I can see the argument for keeping the service departments open as being at least plausible. Keeping the sales floor open so they can take advantage of panicked buyers is a lot less so.
