I can see the argument for keeping the service departments open as being at least plausible. Keeping the sales floor open so they can take advantage of panicked buyers is a lot less so.

I do work in the industry and can tell you moving something by rail typically adds 2+ days to transit.

It’s a heck of a lot easier for someone to book a hot-shot truck delivery across multiple states than it is to coordinate emergency rail shipping through existing, rigid freight schedules that are not set up for overturning regular rail traffic logistics.
