500+++ Days of Jezebel Deliberately Ignoring South Africa

This is about Nat Turner. This is about this movie that I believe to this day could do so much good.

Thanks for posting this

This article makes some great points. I think that films in general tend to be wary of depicting revolutions based on ideology, even if the ideas are in line with many people’s views. That’s why there are so few films based on the Americsn Revolution or why movies like Braveheart invent some b.s. acts of violence

The critics on NPR’s Filmweek last week were in agreement with the above assessment.

My guess is the hospital had nothing to do with the misspelling.

Some of the Jez articels came pretty close to accusing her of the same.

Remind me again why students should report the issue to their school and not directly to the police. Is there a good reason for this aside from the schools don’t want the bad press of “there was a rape on campus”?

According to her people. Spare me.

Fuck that. Let the cops handle it. They do it for free too.

Duh. I thought it was pretty obvious that if you can’t make phone calls either the prison is on lock down or you’re in solitary

She was sentenced to a week of solitary not two weeks ago. Either they knew full well she was serving it now or they’re too stupid to be lawyers if they can’t put two and two together.

Here is something I don’t understand, because I am luckily a. not in college anymore and b. never been sexually assaulted.

Then her people did their jobs. Get the masses good and riled when they knew full well she had 7 days of solitary to serve.

No, they’re to cover their own; Chelsea manning shouldn’t have to follow rules

Her lawyers are morons. Or more likely, troublemakers.

Deciding that the rules are dumb and don’t apply to you is a good way to land in prison.

Where did they think she was? They knew where she was. Wolf crying bullshit. I’m sick of Chelsea manning and I’m sick of her supporters.

Also, got lots of people who worked with us to help get Afghanistan stabilized killed when the list of “collaborators” was made public. What she did was not in any way harmless. Lives were literally lost because of the information she released. Her information was VERY different than the Edward Snowden information.

I really despised what Manning did and am happy to see her locked up for the entire sentence.

What should the proper punishment be for breaking the rules?
