I get ads for the electric XC40 through Care by Volvo, but when I go to Care by Volvo’s site, it’s not listed as one of the vehicles available to me even though the dealer down the street has one in stock.

My Delica has this too, I think it’s a general Japanese design. I am also a huge fan of the 3-knob rotary controls (which I actually prefer), more of a euro design.
I still maintain that the old Toyota/Nissan “four slidey levers and a button for AC” is the pinnacle of HVAC control design, and nothing else is as good, or necessary.
