I remember the tech class covering the differences between the two, they actually use different pistons, rods, and some other components, likely cams, but I remember pistons and rods for sure

If you talk to anyone who understands hybrid powertrains you would know that by not having the gas engine power the wheels the efficiency of the drivetrain can be raised drastically. Right now the difference between prius and volt might seem small, but once the battery technology improves the volt will be miles ahead…

Working as a technician, anytime I hear anyone, customer or fellow tech use the words, “but i read on suchandsuch forum...” my brain almost immediately stops listening. There is a lot of useful information on the internet... just don’t take everything that you read as a fact
