This is a little depressing as I had worked at a discount tire store while going to tech school... the store I worked at was very straightforward, the more annoying things were not being allowed to replace an axle front or rear separate on awd cars and that we weren’t allowed to touch any car with wheel spacers...

Working as a technician, anytime I hear anyone, customer or fellow tech use the words, “but i read on suchandsuch forum...” my brain almost immediately stops listening. There is a lot of useful information on the internet... just don’t take everything that you read as a fact

Agreed, I was a mechanic before joining the navy, my roommates dad had his car towed to a shop while he was at boot camp because it wouldn’t start. It had been overheated a month or so before and needed a bunch of regular maintenance. the mechanic that worked on it ended up replacing the timing belt.... and nothing

where and who is this distributor... and are they street legal in the USA... not that it matters that much

+1 for the harley-buell, i was sad to see buell just went under again, I WANT AN AMERICAN SPORTBIKE DAMMIT!!!

As a current 1990 toyota 4runner owner, I have to say the price isn’t bad, however with 230k miles, it is nearly double the price I paid for mine, with the same engine, transmission and 100k less miles. granted I did have to buy new tires for it... I would be concerned about how much time those power windows have left

I feel like your post turned into a high school word problem

Having owned one of these and having done similar work to it, everything except the engine swap cause i didnt want to give up my gas mileage, I can say while it would be awesome, for the same money I could go buy an actual M3, super fun cars though

I feel like modern cars need people to respect the power they have, when a 500 hp car feels similar to a 180 hp grocery getter, most people don’t realize until it is too late that they needed to slow down or be more careful. Practicality used to have to be sacrificed for the trade off of speed, and understanding you

While I personally agree with you i feel like 25 years ago the exact same argument was had except it was, "Then stop using fuel injection." Some things show up and they're here to stay... this makes me feel old

They pay taxes for BBC so they don't get BS depression/erectile dysfunction/anti-herpes medication commercials on TV amongst other stupid things

My first car was a '77 camaro, w/ a 350 and 4-speed, my dad and i rebuilt the engine and suspension, got the interior from a local junkyard for free because the owner was awesome. Drove it for almost 2 years like that, then painted it for my 18th and drove it another year before parking it and buying another car for a
