I didn't say "all" accidents are avoidable, I said most. Of course there's always going to be a situation that this doesn't apply but the majority of the time some simple situational awareness will work wonders.

I love the sound of a Yamaha triple. I had an XS850 triple back in the 80's .  Loved the sound of that engine at full tilt boogie.  Hopefully this one sounds that good.

Yeah, I spent all of my 20s riding in NYC and have had two incidents, neither too bad. But having just hit 35 my risk profile changed a bit, and while I still ride, all the bikes live at our house in VT, and I’m mostly on roads that barely have cars on them.....and I bought an 80s goldwing.

First, Ukraine wasn’t “free”, and it’s definitely not now. Anyone who disagrees with the Zelensky regime is either in jail or removed from society. They have no free press.

For this reason I am also off to the side of the car in front of me while sitting at a light with my bike in gear, clutch pulled in and foot on the brake. This has saved me a couple times being able to quickly move forward just in case. The other best thing I ever did was fit a intermittent flasher to the brake light

I firmly believe that 99% of accidents can be avoided if you pay attention to your world. The guy above us that got hit by a red light runner? Had he looked both ways before going through the intersection, that wouldn’t have happened.
Left turning people that SMIDSY? There are things you can do to get their attention.

You clearly don’t understand what it means to be poor. Ever had to decide between food and rent or a necessary utility before? And you’re telling people they should just go out and buy a car. $11,000 (low-end of a used Leaf) is not “dirt cheap” for someone struggling

Amazing that you are the one complaining about people getting off their high horse when you think poor people should be forced into taking on $50k in debt to solve a problem they had nothing to do with.

My first real, daily drivable, MC was a Yamaha XS850 Special. Good to see that they have a new triple available. Sounds like a fun ride.

Ah yes, so anyone poor doesn’t deserve sympathy!

While it is sad, if you’re the single mom who can barely pay for their child’s food....$5.50 gas suddenly means you can’t.

You’re making a strawman argument that the only people who care about gas prices are upper middle class types who drive lifted Super Dutys to Burger King. Yes, of course, those people are complaining too, but millions of people have no choice but to drive every day, and they’re not rich, nor are they all driving gas

This is the most neoliberal thing I’ve ever read lol.

Crosstrek does better than you think. We went from a Fit to an Outback and went from 33mpg average to 25mpg. The Impreza in normal driving can keep it close to 30-32 mpg. The trick is that you can’t hypermile for any added benefit. You are stuck with their “max cap” I could coax the Fit to averaging 40-44 in the best

that is highway cruising... more like high teens for any stop/go traffic

I like this but man they seem to average low 20s for mpgs

I agree w/this. I have a friend who earlier this year bought a 2021 Titan Pro-4x after looking at Tundras and F150s for months and months. He was looking to replace a 19 year old Subaru and a 15 year old 4Runner with a single vehicle that could tow and they could put a slide-in camper into and go off into the woods

I still drive a 2010 every day and it is a great truck. It is the last of the trucks without all of the BS whizzbangs and doomahichies that I couldn’t care less about.
