Counter-point: This is a very stupid idea that should not be used for revenue generation (used for god knows what) nor reduction in air travel.

Right. but somebody still has to manage them. Repair them. Deal with the leases. Deal with vandalism. It’s always going to be a cost-center, even if you make a few points of gross margin. It’s more than the raw electricity cost. I could have articulated it better in the first post.

Electricity is incredibly cheap, especially at the commercial rate Tesla gets it for. We’re talking $.03/kw for commercial, vs .12 for residential. Its nothing.
It’s cynical, but I take the secrecy as proof that he has a very diminished brain capacity. I think if he were anywhere near fully concious he would have demanded to have told his fans and the public his status, or even do an interview.
