How on earth he ever could be charged is beyond me.
Should have been more clear - management consulting. Aka the folks flying every week to a client site on Sunday/Monday and returning on Thursday/Friday. The vast majority of people I know who travel frequently (per my first post in this thread) fall into that bucket.
Do you work for a consulting firm? Because your single data point flies in the face of the hundreds of data points from friends/classmates who work for most of the world’s large consulting firms.
No, it’s definitely the case for most, if not all, consulting firms.
Eh, not really. Probably 95%+ of our deal team flights lead to zero M&A activity in the end. It’s hard to actually close on deals.
It’s not wrong. Over half of my MBA class became consultants. All of their long distance int’l travel is business class.
Most frequent travelers (consultants) have travel policies which specify that employees are booked in business class for flights greater than 6-7 hours. So anything in the US/North America is in coach, intercontinental flights are in business.
It’s a good infographic, but in my experience, the private jets are rarely even close to full. When we send deal teams to check out a potential acquisition, the jets are half full or less.
Road Atlanta is 45 mins from Atlanta, much less from areas with significant hotel space.
Road Atlanta is a 1B circuit, meaning F1 cars can test there. Would not take a substantial amount of money to become 1A (mainly the runoff would need to be paved). It would never happen, but still.
It’s massively overpriced. Similar ‘15 Cayenne Diesels (in terms of equipment and mileage) go from mid to low $30s at auction.
Yes, this is the entire reason Airbnb sucks. I have no visibility to what happens on the host end when there is a last minute cancellation, but if you are the renter, it is absolute garbage and I’ll never use it again.
For the purpose of the original discussion thread that you were replying to, it does not matter. For reference (in case you didn’t read the post that prompted the discussion) - the question was “how much of your monthly gross/net goes towards automotive expenses?”
Net is more than just taxes. I put 10% in my 401k to hit the annual limit and max my company contributions. Similarly, I elected for the top health care plan available for my spouse and I (dental, vision, etc) and contribute a decent amount to an HSA.
Car + insurance + gas = 5.2% of gross, 8.2% of net
If you’re looking at everything from the perspective of monthly spend (not that I advise that, but was the original topic of this thread), depreciation doesn’t matter unless you get underwater on your loan.
No manual, doesn’t rev to 8k.
That is simply not true - please cite your source(s).
I don’t really care about on-track vs. in pit lane overtaking. You’ll see graphics saying there were 70 overtakes in a given GP, but other than a handful of those, most drivers are not putting up a huge fight due to differing strategies. For example, any of the top runners pitting in Singapore were outside the top 10,…
