The 2009 front wings created more overall downforce on the car than the 2008 wings. The FIA mandated center section did reduce downforce in that area compared to the year prior, but the wider wind allowed teams to greatly reduce wheel drag/outwash and overall increased downforce.

Both front and rear wings were larger in in 2009 and beyond when compared with 1999-2008.

TO be honest, they should have left the rules stagnant from 2017 on (except for the halo). Ferrari had a legitimate chance at winning the title in 2017 (they were leading coming into the double DNF crash at Singapore) and had the fastest car for parts of the season last year.

It’s not good litigation. There is no way to make an old restomodded car like this safer on the road. If you put in a cage and 5/6 point harnesses, you need to wear a HANS device and helmet when operating it, which is not a great idea for road use.

That’s early-gen GDI. Most manufacturers have fixed the carbon buildup issue by now. The reason for filters is that GDI generates much more PM than port injection.

Euro 6c effectively requires all direct injected cars to have PM filters. So this car is certainly not the first, many cars have it.

It’s because direct injection greatly increases particulate matter emitted by the car, especially PM2.5, which is the most dangerous for human health.

Don’t forget, they’re also the team that pushed the GOAT out in his prime.

D3 S8s with a decent amount of miles are only $15k-18k as well.

Also, define NORMAL CONDITIONS.

True, but neither Force India was on the podium that year. Not really sure how that’s relevant.

*Williams-Renault, only HRT and Marussia were running Cosworth in 2012.

Pirelli massively changed the tire compounds for 2012 and no one had a handle on how they would work. Combine that with a stagnant engine formula and fairl stagnant aero regs, and it was probably (along with 2010) the most competitive F1 season in 30+ years.

To be fair, Tesla clearly is not charging enough for their vehicles - every Tesla sold is essentially subsidized for several thousands dollars by VC/PE/shareholder money.

It’s not an investment car, but certainly one which will not depreciate any more. Very few cars (especially those with production numbers as high as the RS2) will ever truly be “investment cars”. To be comparable to a simple S&P 500 index fund (which earns ~7% a year), an investment car’s value must roughly double

Pre-2010 models don’t have the factory reinforcement. The parts are about $50 on eBay and it’s 1-2 hours of labor at a decent welding shop and the issue is fixed. Total cost to fix ~$200.

“Hot commoditiy”, yet their auction prices are fractions of what they were pre-scandal.

It’s not a first year car. I don’t understand where people keep getting this from. MY2017 was the first year for US Quadrifoglios (MY2016 was the overall first year). This car is a 2018.

It’s actually supposed to play in the space between GTI/Civic SI and the Golf R/Civic Type R.
