Countries like Israel, Sweden & Switzerland not only have plenty of guns per capita.. they also have plenty of gun CONTROL.

Comparing cities is inane because one can easily get a gun from a gun show in Indiana and then drive over to Chicago. Are there border checkpoints in Chicago? But it's much harder to smuggle a gun from country to country (from the US to Japan).

I would be careful with the thinking that Americans are more selfish and entitled than most. How does one measure "compassion"? Are, say, the Swedes or German individuals really more compassionate than Americans? The Swedish & German governments have more entitlement programs than the US, yet they rank lower than

There are crazies in every country, sure. But despite the link, Australia still has less incidents of gun violence than America. Australia has .09 gun homicides per 100,000 people. USA has 3.7 gun homicides per 100,000. The difference is magnified if suicides are included.

In Australia, where guns are heavily restricted and only "wanna be gang banger drug dealer punks down the street" have guns, the gun violence rate is still significantly lower than the US.

How hard is it to sneak guns into Chicago? Instead of comparing cities, lets compare countries. Japan, U.K., South Korea and Australia all have very strict gun laws and very low firearm death rates.

Countries such as UK, Japan & Australia have very strict gun control. These are countries where "only outlaws have guns" and yet their gun violence rate is still significantly lower than the US. Why do you think that is?

An outright gun ban won't stop gun crimes.. but it would significantly reduce it.
