Let me be verrrrryyy clear. Buying a new car is buying a depreciating asset, it still retains but loses value at an expected rate. It’s still a consideration for anyone who is good with their money.

The model S weighs ~4800 pounds in dual motor config and the roadster they showed in the videos is substantially smaller and squatter. Cooling also isn’t much weight in the total weight of the battery pack.
 

Tesla’s charge like 100 miles worth of difference in the first 5 minutes. The new semi-truck is supposed to get hundreds of miles of range in 10 minutes.  

Maybe if you’re like 80 years old TODAY, but Waze/Google, Uber, Tesla, and Apple are all hyper accelerating towards that reality.
