The game was designed as an exploration/survival game. If you went into it looking for an “ending” then you completely ignored Sean Murray, who said repeatedly that that is not what the game is about. You can DO that, sure, but the game is about exploring.

“And not everything will be possible when we ship the game, but we will be making this game for a long time.”

I’ve seen animals reacting to a huge dinosaur in the game with my own eyes. The textures for the snakes exist in the code (folks have posted gifs on reddit) so they just aren’t implemented yet. Same with the other items.

They also “promised” that a lot of what would be in the game would not be in the game on release and would be added later.

Now playing

I keep posting this, because it’s incredibly relevant:

I think the Senate is in the bag; she’s going for the House too.

Bullshit. Your candidate, and he is YOUR candidate because he is now the head of the Republican Party, got *more votes* than any Republican in history. He went on Fox news day after day and spoke to YOUR people, and YOUR people voted for him in droves.

Actually this is the best game of the year, for me. I haven’t had such fun in ages, and I love the exploration aspect of it. I get a huge sense of anticipation each time I land on a new planet...what will it look like, what will I find...the game is amazing.

During launch and for the following few days there were 100K to 250K playing at any given time; there’s probably twice that on PS4 and also folks not playing through steam, so there’s probably upwards of a million people on at any time, or close to it.

One thing I have found about this game is I think part of the problem is the attitude of younger gamers. If you watch people playing on twitch.tv, they seem to move as fast as they can to do things and get from place to place. That works great if you are playing most styles of games.

I’ve found it worth 60$ so far, and I’m only 15 hours in.

There’s 18 quintillion planet, and you are seriously worried about there being nothing left to discover? Jesus, the hate for this game is insane.

Everyone except the millions of folks playing the game and enjoying it.

The game doesn’t suck.

The author has it right. the game is not “meant” to be played quickly, but as an experience. If you actually spend *time* on a planet, and get to know the lay of the land, it becomes amazing, and that is the whole point of the game, for me.

Except that that is exactly what some people want to do. Some people don’t need to have their hands held and have fun exploring, which is why they made this game in the first place. So go play another game.

This article is actually kinda bullshit. There are multiple other folks actually now live streaming the game on twitch, and by and large on reddit the reaction has been extremely positive. Very few people have actually expressed disappointment; most people have mentioned how awesome it looks and how amazing the music

What kind? He’s not doing anything illegal. Purchasing a game before it’s due to be in stores isn’t illegal; selling one certainly is.

Yeah, so, I saw the unboxing video, and the intro video. The intro video, when he discovers the planet he is on, is mindblowing. What a sense of wonder. I wanted to see more, but I chose not to watch the second video, 26 minutes of gameplay. I am going to do my best to wait.

Jesus. I’m 43 and I feel very young. What’s wrong with you babies.
