No, I hated Avatar back then, too. Not sure if I was io9 back then, though.
Nobody actually liked Avatar. It was more like “Oh wow this is stunning” during the movie, and then “Holy crap that was the most one-dimensional storyline ever to be deemed Oscar bait”.

Every time I see something about Burning Man, it reaffirms my view that I would hate everything about Burning Man. On my short list of things I hate:
-Crowds
-Being dirty
-The hot as fuck desert
-Hippies

She could legitimately have done a lot of campaign stops by train. It would take longer, but it also would have generated a lot of publicity. No, she wouldn’t have reached everywhere and she would have had to fly or drive to some stops, but it would be a hell of a lot greener than flying.
