I think it’s clear that this wife was complicit in Gilead’s crimes. Sure, she told Emily she opposed the university purges—but because she saw herself, with her mfa, as an intellectual. The way they frame her oposition, it’s reeeeeally unlikely she opposed the culling of gays, or newspapermen, or anyone not her.

I may be reading too much into it, but I think Nick is underwritten because he was written as a typical wife/girlfriend character. He is only important as something for June to play off, and to advance HER tale. If this is what the writers are doing, I like it. Because, TBH, if this were a female character I don’t

Your first link is referencing some obscure GOP candidate from 2012. Considering Danette’s comparisons were with the current administration and their so-called “attack”, it’s doesn’t seem particularly relevant. Not to mention there is a stark difference between saying a woman should keep her baby no matter what and

Continuously comparing the perceived horrors of today with the actual horrors of The Handmaid’s Tale really minimizes the atrocities depicted in both the show and the book and it’s unfortunate the reviewer decided to do this.

iZombie has layers — like an onion! ;-)

Also, I’d like to think that “Spotted Dick” also implies some form of STD...

I’m hoping they’ll explain what Major’s doing.

Oh... that is... that is perfect for this brain.

Probably another case where they’re drawing parallels between the two.

Major is infuriating and I hope he dies already (he won’t, sigh). Chase isn’t great, either, but he doesn’t have the long history of being one of the good guys that Major does. Is there a reason why he can’t talk to his friends if he’s not really into the horrible things he’s doing? And how could he just stand there

She only switched it off to go see Brother Love because she felt a zombie preacher would prefer it. I think she is trying to disguise herself more because she has taken on the Renegade persona and wants to draw less attention to herself.

Liv cooked Spotted Dick!

Kind of weird to write two of such long, unnecessarily snide comments after missing Zack’s point completely: he even says exactly what you’re saying in so many words, but the point is that with the changes the TV series makes as an adaptation, the impact of characters dying unceremoniously changes, too. It doesn’t

oh my god, exactly, i loved that part. so freakin’ brutal, man.

She’s definitely grown, but the old Jane was still fairly sex positive, at least in the sense you never saw her judging other people (e.g. her mom or Lina) for having sex or trying to discourage them like Alba would, which I’ve always liked about how the show/character is written. She had to want to be abstinent

I would have happily had it just be friendship until I saw that when she first ran off to the medium place, she took not just the “what we owe to each other” book but also the photo of Chidi, and the way she looked at it. Then I was 100% on board, OTP all the way.

It was pointed out on Reddit etc. already, but:

I respect the Tahani/Eleanor shippers, but my heart belongs to Chidi & Eleanor. I just love them the most, and I love their dynamic and their friendship and they are just way too adorable.

Not gonna lie. Eleanor seeking out Chidi makes me cry. He will always be her flashlight.

Jeeze Louise! Looks like Chidi has a real case of the Mondays, am I right? Hey ya, pass the NASCAR ketchup.

Did I see Michael’s final action coming? Yes. Did it still make my heart swell? Yes. There’s just nothing else quite like this show. I hugely enjoy a show like Superstore (and its “let’s band together to fail!” montage was hilariously funny tonight) but The Good Place’s combination of laughs, heart, and sheer
