Sounds like they wanted to exaggerate a bit since the “true” MPG figures aren’t appealing but after the VW mess I am sure GM, among other manufactures, are looking to trace their steps and correct anything that could cause trouble sooner than later.

I too am like this. I even went as far to digitize the cars records from new and now keep a spreadsheet in the glovebox for reference. Thankfully both of my vehicles were owned by people who were almost as meticulous as me about keeping records and I didn’t have to track down any missing pieces to the puzzle.
Provided it hasn’t baked onto the paint and the correct removal process is used, the worst I’ve encountered is inconsistent paint fade.
I have never been a fan of the design of the authentic targas.
To be pedantic, Jay didn’t “crash” his like the title of this video would suggest, just a spin out that he was able to correct as he described himself at the end (and is confirmed by the car driving back to the pits right after the spin)
