I downloaded the Brave browser to combat the obnoxious new sticky autoplaying video. It seems to be working and also completely eliminates the rest of the insane G/O ads, no more “recent videos” mid-article either

I’ve come somehow after struggling through navigating this bullshit to tell you I’d love to read your article but the fucking ads literally halting my scrolling and fixing my screen in spot is some pure jamoke fuckery.
Good advice, I’ll look into it. Thank you for the support, it means a lot
Why did you post this? What did you think it would add to the conversation? Yes, you can definitely make the same criticism of my comment, but I want to point out that if you’re not able to do anything than think about how something impacts you then you shouldn’t comment at all on an article about people doing very…
i have no words except to say that i see you, i believe, and i support you.
As someone with a fair few female friends, who are involved in creative endeavours and lines of work, it is beyond ridiculous how much they have to go through on a daily basis. Every single one of them has a story from every single event or just every day.
That deserves an un-graying.
This reads like a paragraph out of A Clockwork Orange.
Asking for a threesome is not an abusive statement. The problem isn’t the nature of the sex act. The problem is that Dariani was someone with immense power in the industry, and Ayala was someone who worked in that industry, and whose career could be seriously damaged if Dariani decided to get vindictive over her…
It’s simply weird at this point. There goes a couple of my past heroes, Warren Ellis and Chris Avellone, into the pit of my Hell. Twitch, a construct I highly respect, houses sexual predators and that the gaming industry, one I’m highly attracted to, is horrible when it comes to it’s general sense of human rights.…
Kotaku was my only go-to site for gaming news 10 years ago (hell, even five years ago). Now I often forget to check this site. And now, when I do think to check this site, I’m treated like a piece of shit due to ads upon ads upon ads upon ads upon ads upon ads.
Jim Spanfeller is a Herb. This much is evident. In his rush to stripmine as much short-term profit from the survivors of his last culling, Spanfeller has signed the death warrant of all.
Yep. Then they have the nerve to ask you to whitelist them when you get an ad blocker.
I posted a comment about this on Gizmodo but it looks like they shadow banned it. It had 6 recommendations so far but it doesn’t show up (even in pending) unless I go through my notifications.
I MAY have just started piping the Kmart tape through the intercom system at work......
It’s worth my $60 if the experience is just great. Something like the Uncharted series or Spiderman or the original God of War games werent exactly time behemoths, but the experience jammed into a dozen or so hours were so fun and memorable that I got my money’s worth even if it didn’t take me half a year to finish.
So the new can't-scroll-past-it autoplay video thing isn't just me? I genuinely thought it was some bug in my browser. Kotaku sure loves making it as annoying as possible to enjoy their website.
Lowering the price for less content is at least possible. Man of Medan and Little Hope were both $30. Outer Wilds was (I think) $25. A lot of shorter story-based indie titles go for $10-40 on release. I could see more major publishers forming development teams that put out shorter games more quickly at a lower initial…
The amount of ads in this article (and in general) is asinine. At least, on mobile anyways. Here I am, on my phone, wanting to read this article, and you AUTO-PLAY a video of you guys playing The Last of Us Part 2 and this video gets STICKIED to the top of my phone's browser. So, despite me scrolling, the video stays…
This spins as though the games will be cheaper and overtime will go away - which is certainly not the case. He just wants these releases to be more frequent so they can make more money.
