The motors are quiet. It’s the gearboxes that aren’t. In some ICE cars you can also hear the gearbox very clearly(See Porsche cup car for example), but it plays a secondary role to the engine sound. And EVs have much higher gearbox input speeds, which results in higher pitched sound.

The Mercedes W123, by looks and in spirit. Or the commercial/millitary version of the G-Class.

Ferrari isn’t the only team with a heritage bonus, McLaren and Williams also get some. Mercedes and Red Bull also get boni for their recent successes.

If you have seen it recently, it is and for a car with completely different hardware. The current cars are meeting Euro6d-temp compfortably and have aced third-party tests. The engines produce less CO2 than petrol cars of comparable power, and ver low amounts of particulates and NOx. If you are convinced that that is

Bonus citrus fact: Many types of oranges are actually green. That includes some that are sold in european and probably north american stores, which are are treated with ethylene to make them orange, as that is what the consumer expects

VW got sentenced for fraud in german courts and had to pay billions. Tesla got convicted of false advertising, the only sentence is to cease the false advertising. Great protectionism.

Stocks used to be simple. You buy some, the company takes the money to buy stuff and hire people, and then you get a share of the profit. But at some point it mutated into something many stockmarket people don’t seem to understand properly.

They are using water, just like most other EV and all ICE cars. It does not have direct contact with the component like in a combustion engine, it flows through the heat sink that is  mounted to the circuit board or cells.

Someone made a video showing cakes that looked like non-cake items, it went kind of viral and now it’s a meme to photoshop random things as cake.

And the lane assist and distance maintainer are legal to be used there, as in any other car

The lawsuit wasn’t about autopilot, it was about “full self driving”, and Tesla can’t do that, so they committed false advertising.

I went by what I can order from the manufacturers right now.

The longest range Model Y that can currently be selected on the german Tesla website is the long range with 500km range.

The trump card is no trump card anymore considering how fast Ionity is growing in europe.

You are mixing US prices with german prices

I’m in Germany, so WLTP counts and the Tesla website says 300 miles, which I would view as equal to the BMW, even more so if BMW contiues to undersell as they used to do with engine power.

BMW saw that there was no money in electric cars at the time, so they didn’t continue(they obviously did, but didn’t roll out anything until now). The car is also far from half-assed. The battery is of similar size to the Model Y, but in a nicer chassis. And as it is a very popular chassis, it will be easier to sell

If you spec a 30d with the stuff thats standard on the iX3, its over 60k, so it looks like it has the usual electric car surcharge.

The battery seems to be very good, it’s 80kWh in a chassis that was originally designed for ICE. I believe BMW now assumes the point from where there is money to be made with electric cars, and rolled it out.

The WLTP range is competitive with the Model Y, while the price is about €9k higher. As the BMW will be the nicer car to own, it doesn’t seem like a bad deal, and I would expect BMW to offer incentives, bringing the car closer to the Y.
