Exactly; this is 100% greed from the existing teams.
Counterpoint: that means half of them are ;)
No kidding. I’d like to see one single article showing an actual disabled gamer using this thing and showing how it’s a good design for, uh, anyone - because I (verified Disabled Gamer; yay-not-yay quadriplegia) can’t figure it out.
My thoughts exactly... *looks at Adaptive Controller plugged in to Xbox next to wheelchair* *turns and looks at second one connected to PC with attached mouth controls*
For what it’s worth, it was a majestik møøse.
Nothing about this dude screams “vaguely competent...” But it kinda looks like “serious crimes to collect a comparably trivial payout” could be an accurate campaign slogan!
BTW, I’m quite enjoying this conversation and am not necessarily trying to end it - we seem to be in pretty much completely in agreement on the topic(s), which feels great and I’m happy to find someone else with the same mindset! : ) However, I keep dragging you back to this thread when you could be dropping science…
Oh prayer certainly is worming its way into the justice system - several SCOTUS knuckleheads have essentially used their prayer time as justification for their arguments (looking at you, Coney-B, and Alito’s happy to embrace any nonsense to get his regressive rocks off); that’s not even to mention judges top to bottom…
I’ve never understood why Austria and Hungary aren’t back-to-back, as those two tracks are geographically about as close together as it gets. It was silly enough to have France between the two, but now Silverstone?? Come on F1, work on your traveling-salesman skills.
For what it’s worth, Smeagol getting forgiveness approval from Gollum is just as valid as a person getting it through prayer to whatever deity. It certainly feels good, but neither carries much weight in a courtroom.
I’d love to give you 50 stars for that top-notch pun, but just one seems to be more appropriate.
“Sure, I murdered some people in cold blood, but I prayed on it and skybro totes granted me forgiveness so it’s a-ok*”
This is the same crap they try to pull claiming atheists/non-religious people are lawless heathens who can’t possibly have morals or want to do the right thing in a situation because they don’t have some skybro threatening them.
My thoughts exactly. The article/study even said that coffee specifically jump-starts “working memory, cognitive control, and goal-directed behavior,” so to claim it’s placebo isn’t even entirely accurate.
Indeed, the Adaptive Controller is a game-changer (heh) for people with dexterity disabilities! I have one that I use on Xbox; I can only manage one stick and six or so buttons including mouth control inputs (yay spinal cord injury/quadriplegia), so my options for games are limited, but I’d be able to play precisely…
Hey, disabled PC gamer here. I use a wacky combination of joystick, keyboard/keypad, mouse, and/or mouth controls to play all sorts of games. I’d absolutely love to pick up a gamepad and play this with that control option, but no dice. (For reference, I’ve fumbled through MGS1 (and most of 2) on GOG with my setup…
Backfire? Nah, these theocrats will happily make a contradictory ruling against Muslims, etc., and/or in favor of Christian “victims” down the line, and face no consequences whatsoever. That’s apparently how the court works now.
Heck yes, the FFIX moogles were the best. Need an overworld save? Call a moogle! Need a laugh? Call and dismiss it over and over! And most importantly, forget what on earth you’re supposed to be doing in this sprawling JRPG full of distractions? Ask the moogles at the marsh!
Yep, these idiots think that all trans women are just “jocks putting on skirts” or whatever to “cheat” at sports (or at least to get access to the women’s locker room and perv out in the showers, which is just projection and fantasy from the transphobes.) They’re completely oblivious/willfully ignorant about just how…
