Thank you!! That particular usage drives me crazy, and people say it all the time. Every adjective demands an adverb modifier, apparently.

Oh yes, Firewire had a speed advantage over USB, even when the theoretical speeds were similar (i.e. Firewire 400 = 400mbps; USB 2.0 = 480mbps)... Something about streams vs. packets, or some other dense technical differences that I’ve not thought about for 20 years and don’t care to look up. Not to mention there was…
Firewire was absolutely fantastic, for a brief period of time at least. I had a 2001ish-model Sony laptop at the start of college, and it had USB 1.1... plus a Firewire 400 port. When I went shopping for an external CD burner (remember those?), I could get one that would read/write at 2x over USB 1.1, or a Firewire…
Yes! I primarily use streaming anymore because it’s so much easier on mobile, but an infinitesimal amount of that subscription money goes to the artist; I still buy CDs - preferably from the artist’s website - to both show support and let me have a DRM-free FLAC copy. Heck, I still primarily use Winamp 5.6 or whatever…
Oh, one of the affairs with an employee was consensual! That makes it aaaaall better...
We’ve heard this before, “F1 race held at crappy venue”
including some interchangeable hands
That “Tesla Owners Silicon Valley” tweet actively makes me want to throw up.
Please tell me this doofus actually called it a “sneak peak” - like stealthily climbing Mount Everest or something - and that it’s not just a typo on the Giz end...
Thank you for acknowledging this atrocity, fellow pedant
Been having the same problem (on desktop) for ages. I always narrow-ify the window to turn slide shows into scrolling articles though, which “solves” the problem that nobody on their end cares to fix...
Same here; usually they make their minigames obnoxiously in-your-face obvious, but I didn’t see anything at all this time around. I figured they just hadn’t bothered to make one. I’m a little bummed - I’m in the vanishingly-small minority of people who gets a bit of enjoyment out of those distractions.
Thank you! Indeed, there’s no logic behind calling them Aramco barriers - since I didn’t know any better, I was guessing they just meant “barriers with the Aramco logo,” as their ads are plastered over everything.
the Armco barrier
Your point mostly still stands, but Manchin’s from West Virginia, which is waaaay deeper red. He only gets elected because he has extensive political history in the state, such that they vote for him because they know exactly who he is (i.e. a Republican.)
As sketchy/slow/inconsistent/whatever as in-display fingerprint sensors are, they are still an absolute godsend for disabled users. For those like me who can’t pick up and hold a phone “normally” (and/or have limited dexterity from paralysis, arthritis, etc.), side- and rear-mounted sensors may as well not exist.…
I do dig shark blue and python green, but the real best color is “give us $11k and we’ll paint it whatever you want.”
Last time I checked, Razer laptops all use lower-power versions (what used to be “Max-Q”) of the GPUs, while this one uses the highest-TDP versions. The Razer Blade 17 is certainly a more aesthetically pleasing design, but the performance doesn’t compare.
Hang on, summer just started, and it’s the longest day of the year - Type O Negative has the perfect song for today...
(I (+ oh god) can’t think (of)) (a | worse (choice(of(language))))
