This makes you the opposite of cynical.

Call around to local gyms and ask if they are offloading any equipment. I picked up a well-used but very serviceable set of dumbbells from 75lbs-110lbs for $200. They use 1" plates and come apart so I rebuilt the set from 20lbs to 80lbs which serves most of my needs. Generally if you can get used weights for <=

That’s funny, I literally just saw one on the road and was thinking how well it’s aged. The GS has always looked good to me though, especially the 3rd gen.

I bought my 2004 back in December. It’s a project with almost 250k on the odometer, but I’ve been slowly fixing it up. I figured I should get one while they’re still somewhat affordable, unlike almost every other FR Toyota that’s even remotely fun to drive. Yeah, I put Aristo badges on it.

Hi. I’ve got one. Almost 250k and the lights are perfect.

Well that’s nice of you! If we didn’t have this stupid virus going around I’d say come on over... Maybe we can figure out how to PPE ourselves sufficiently to wrench together 🤓

I think I’ve talked myself into trying to do my Z’s timing belt, but every time I research it, I get intimidated at the long list of stuff I’m supposed to buy (based on the “while you’re in there, you might as well...” forum advice.)

1. If it spins, wear safety goggles or face shield.

It’s because it went from an interesting competitor in the sports car market, to outdated, now to a value, because very single other sports car like it is either defunct or WAY too expensive for someone in a regular tax bracket. If you want a sports car with similar stats, similar feel and similarly equipped you are

It’s weird... I keep hearing that the car market in general is undergoing some massive crisis, but prices I’m seeing don’t seem to be that changed. Is there a metric for average sale prices year to date we can use to track that?

I think it’s because it’s pretty easy to do for the most part, and these are very solid engines that can take a bit more grunt.

The car is offered in Denver which is a kind of outdoorsey place. I would expect that you might use the racks for bikes or snowboards. I’m not a big roof rack fan so I don’t know if it’s a hassle to take them off or if they’re just added for the ad.

Hmmm, I had assumed that the intake runner was removed to show the blower coolant circulator installation.

the real stuff isn’t too bad in small doses, it’s the 18 million variations of cheap textured plastic that gets me. Like half the time it isn’t even the same fake texture through the car (looking at you Subaru) My old MKV Rabbit had a nice texture that wasn’t trying to be anything in particular and it looked great

Can we add carbon fiber to the mix of nixed materials? I know it’s expensive and can save weight, but it always looks cheap and awful to me.

My father in law had this model Tiquan. He loved the thing. He took it in for a service and they mentioned this recall. He gave them permission to fix it. When they were driving it into the shop for the fix the tensioner gave out destroying it.

Nasty. Nasty, nasty question. You’re a nasty person asking nasty questions. Remember when I fixed the economy and made Apple move iPhone manufacturing to America? I’ve also put Mike Pence in charge of keeping us all safe. Overall I’m doing fantastic with macarenavirus. Kristen Lee, she’s just not nice.
