Just to edify fans of Fukunaga: my husband and I were spellbound by this film. It's not in any way easy to watch, but I'm still haunted by it. The performances are nuanced, the camera work is artful and its violence is unapologetic, brutal and honest. Elba is a tour-de-force and this is a film for the 21st century. It

I'm surprised there's no discussion here of the obvious references to "The Hunger", replete with how Gaga and Bomer slash their victims with "claws" that are equally reminiscent of Gaga's costume as they are the necklace daggers that Denueve and Bowie's vampires used to dispatch their victims. In fact, I'd say that

"Upperclass Twit of the Year." Anyone else find this evergreen and spit-take funny no matter how many times you've watched it? It makes me laugh like nothing else on the planet.

I would like more Mad TV alums, please. I really missed you, Stephanie Weir!

Does Eddie Murphy remember what he said about Bill Cosby in "Raw?" Maybe we should remind him.

" (because she doesn’t get a chance to eat anything at Juna’s party)"…this is a direct stab at Hollywood, and that actresses (and actors) will NEVER be seen eating at a top shelf event even when the food is so fantastic. Actresses are under constant pressure to stay perfect, and this is one fantastic moment of satire.

Really? Nathan For You is a BETTER show than Game of Thrones? Boardwalk Empire isn't better than Looking? Am I really THAT old and out of touch? Your year end lists…just…sigh.

This is a particularly gorgeously written reprise this week. From bow to stern. Bravo. Even more bittersweet since I will miss this show so much.

Well, you can blame this on the not so stellar writing of the show, but clearly they're setting the character up to be an important adversary of the vampires. He clearly has the stomach for killing, which, as the theme of this episode illustrates, is the only thing now that matters for the survival of everyone.

What's with the Gus hating? I feel like they're building Gus to be fearless, heroic and even, dare I say, altruistic. Yes, he's morally compromised (what criminal isn't?), but he's driven by a higher purpose: his mother, his sense of duty, fairness. The clock moment really shows us what we can expect from him. Is it a

My stray observations: "

Birdy? The Weather Man? Lord of War? The Bad Lieutenant? Matchstick Men? Windtalkers? Breaking out The Dead? Red Rock West? Wild At Heart? Raising Arizona? Peggy Sue Got Married? MOONSTRUCK? Vampire's Kiss? You want to maybe do a better job of exploring the serious films this guy has appeared in for nearly 30 years IF

Greatest Twitter rant ever.

Joni Mitchell? Carole King? Neil Diamond? Neil Sedaka? Paul Williams? Paul Anka? (Really? You left out the guy who wrote "My Way" for Sinatra?) David Bowie also wrote songs for his friends, notably Mott the Hoople (and their signature song). Why does this list feel so half-assed to me?

And he sang all the vocals for the group. I remember hearing the Sinead Version and thinking it was far better than the original when it came out.
