Get my autocross MGB on the course.  The 3.8 supercharged Buick and drivetrain are swapped in, megasquirt wired in and suspension is done.  Just need to plumb the brakes, calibrate all the sensors, get it Dyno tuned, plumb the intercooler, fuel system and trans cooler, and a few sheet metal projects.

Why do people get hung up on drum brakes on the rear. On a fwd car like this the rear brakes do very little work and packaging the handbrake into the system is simpler. Many of those disk brake systems have a drum brake in the rotor. Unless something is heavy or a track day car rear drums are usually more than

I think it is old and the pacing is too slow for modern audiences but...  If it weren't for the car chase and Steve McQueen dying young this movie would be all but forgotten.  I grew up watching AMC and seeing old movies and was excited the first time it was on TV, it wasn't bad on an endearing way, it wasn't good and

I don't think it's a Denver problem,  in Montana the same thing happens but there are less people so we don't have massive pileup.  People forget how to drive on slick roads and it seems like the first couple are often the hardest to drive on because the snow is heavy and wet and Temps are close to freezing which is

I parted out out to get the wiring harness and some of the chassis parts and I couldn’t believe how cheap the plastic was on the inside. Usually when people complain it’s not good but serviceable. I always imagined Chrysler plastics that look cheap but are durable but I broke some of the panels in the inside on

I think most conversions I have seen with a manual transmission are mostly so that they have a place to bolt the electric motor that requires little fabrication. If you know the bolt pattern on the transmission and spine count you could make a kit that bolts into multiple vehicles without extra engineering.

I agree, if the hummer and its image can be repaired the Escalade is easy.  The H2 and H3 seen to have everything that didn't age well about the 00s in cars.  Gm will make the next Escalade fast, smooth and quiet and people will not flinch to buy them

I think are are valid reasons for not choosing an EV, but the cost arguement is hard for me to comprehend when I look at the prices of the pickups sitting on lots. Just looking at a local Ram Dealer I would say the Median Price is probably 60K. I didn’t see one below 48k. It seems like more than a few Ev’s start below

This is one of the more level headed comments I have seen on this. Both models are a mixed bag. Getting parts and service are a consideration when buying a new car, I work on the stuff I drive but if it’s under warranty I want a place close by that we can get it to and hopefully have the car fixed within a week.

Fixed an oil leak on my wife's Subaru, replaced the fuel injectors on my pickup and now I have to track down a misfire and a bank 1 rich condition and helped a friend get a replacement engine in thier Prius and started for the first time.  Also pieced together the raspberry pi that will run the gauges on my MGB with

I’m down for frozen Carbonite.  Wake up the next day to them looking like han Solo with a sawzall in thier hand

Counterpoint, 4 doors are better, and who cares about rarity when you can have one of the latter Cherokees that has more power and were better sorted by the factory.

I agree with a lot of this.  Of the brakes and engine were a tuneup and adjustment from being a nice driver the owner would have sorted this out.  Until you figure out the drivability issues and do diagnostics the are a lot of question marks but I think people who haven't sorted out old cars assume it's a prime

“You have been backing up wrong, looking into your mirrors like some idiot.  My BMW has a feature that uses a camera to take video of what is behind me"

I’m having a hard time not being snarky. If you owned a car and accidently taped the turn signal or over cancelled it I have a hard time not imagining that your would notice it flashes 3 times. That’s how I discovered the feature ten years ago in a fiesta so basic it hard hand crank windows. I was under the

I imagine there is a crossover between the people calling foul on this, imagine how many stops they could make at taco bell after midnight, and the people who say racist stuff and then respond "what...  It's true!"

A Crosstrek is in the same class and price point as a Mazda 3 or Civic which both have better interiors, great economy and will be much more fun to drive if that is your jam.

The recalls were so many and so convoluted that I bet tons of people missed the recall.  My 06 ram was two separate recalls like a year apart, one for the drivers side and another for the passenger.  I imagine a lot of people saw the notice and said, I already did that not realizing it was the other side.

Even if the light had been green on a bike I would look to see if everyone was going to stop. Even in a car I look because I got T boned going through a light that had been green for a few seconds before I got to the intersection.  I would rather stop and live than be right and die or delay myself a few seconds rather

I must have wrong information or someone transplanted the 4.0 in an 86 because mine had a 2.8 and the only other option I was aware of was the 2.5 iron duke, in which case your really couldn’t get much of an engine in a Jeep in the day.
