The Buffy one is an interesting question since Buffy whilst meeting the prophecy of her death in the Pergamum Codex by going to face the Master, defeated it at the same time (or Xander did), which led to the breaking of the balance and the war with the First.
I think that while the story is one which we know, the tone and style of the film is what could make it really interesting. A bit like Marvel with Winter Soldier.
