Been involved in two Union jobs. In both i was forced to join. If you did not, they took dues out anyway and gave the money to “charity”. So either way, money was coming out of my check- but in one, I did not have Union “protection”. I never saw that protection, just money out of my check every week, and a strike

Wth, I love Portnoy now.

but aren’t union bosses really corrupt? (i may watch too many movies.)

Unions are protection rackets. They exploit the worker for the benefit of the mob/union boss.

It amazes me that there are so many people who literally pay money to post comments kissing his ass.

YOUR union was a waste, not ALL unions. If your little story is even true, I don’t exactly trust you to have done the math correctly. You don’t even understand that other people have had different experiences than you.

I did not have Union “protection”

Ford also paid his employees a living wage. I’m sure those non-unionized companies treat their employees like that.

Cause it’s the kind of shit disingenuous douche bags says.

Agreed, reminds me of all those talking heads calling Derrick Rose soft for not coming back immediately from his knee injuries. Rose grew up in the Southside of Chicago in the ‘hood and here are the talking heads who grew up in the ‘burbs calling him soft.

These are also the same people who throw tantrums if their coffee is perceived to be late.

I was STUNNED how many people on those rides said things like, “I support unions, but...”

But unions originally formed for companies that were doing great, and expanding fast, and maybe weren’t kicking as much of the prosperity to their workers as they could.

So Pitaro’s vision is basically, “let’s just keep everything the way it is and as vanilla as possible.” Good thing he gets paid the big bucks!

Of course the GOP took shots at Trump during the last election. The difference is that GOP voters are perfectly OK with holding their nose and voting along party lines, while the Dems stay home if they don’t get their way (or worse, go on the Maddow show and cry that if they can’t have Bernie, then they’d rathersee

Well, a concern I have is that the Dem establishment seems way too concerned with upsetting (or not offending) people. I understand that logic but to me, in today’s political climate, you gotta fire up your base.

Their issues were not the same but they are very similar politically. They were both chosen by the establishment and are being protected. There’s a sense of entitlement that I see with both and the DNC. They don’t feel like they should have to earn it through a hard fought primary.

Agreed, the Democratic leadership reminds me of someone who says parking is available in Times Square. At one time, yes, you could find parking but we all know those times are long gone.

Basically she’s saying you’re not allowed to criticize him. It’s like Hillary folks claiming that Bernie’s attacks on her helped Trump win (I guess nobody on the GOP side took shots at Trump during his primary).

You don’t need impeachment to investigate him. They’re already doing that. It also won’t make Trump magically stop stonewalling. That will still keep happening no matter what.
