@jms: yeah, but compare the 1-2 operators of the small boats to the 5-8 marines that it carries. The Wasp class ships are a majority marines ~1900 marines vs. ~1100 sailors.

@Chyfine: this is more used by the Marines. It is an amphibious assault ship with a majority of the aircraft operated by the marines as well as storing lots of marines ready to invade un-suspecting islands.
