A Dodge Viper. Everyone should experience what it’s like to be behind the wheel of a vehicle that’s actively trying to kill you, even if just for a couple minutes.
A Cadillac Cimarron, just so you know we all could have had it much worse and as much as we complain, things are actually pretty good.
It doesn’t really matter which one, but you need to do it on a track. It’s the nearest thing to an actual racing car you’re going to experience in a car you could drive home. (Would also accept Aerial Atom or similar).
The first-generation Honda S2000. My family owned one (in an excellent blue over blue leather interior, like the one pictured below), and so I had the pleasure of driving it on occasion. The manual is, of course, sublime and the rigidity of the monocoque frame can’t be overstated. But everyone should should, at some…

And so began the new arms race: ED-209 vs the weaponization of stairwells.
I think F1 is a special kind of tough just because of the size of the pool of drivers. Like I commented above there are 390 active NBA players and that was the top tier professional sport that I could think of with the fewest participants. F1 only having 20 drivers seems like it would multiply the pressure placed on…
Still running off an 8 year old platform.
Way to turn basic economics into a political argument.
I can’t wait for the overly busy and try hard styling fad to die.
Exactly my thoughts! I want this practicality with out the potential VW issues, the GOLF R was the only choice from an adult prospective. Now I can get Honda reliability! My wifes 2.o sport accord is a hoot to drive!
This looks SO much better than the last one. I’m sure there are young students/professionals who could afford the $38-$44k Type R, and liked the look. But for anyone of a certain age (40+ maybe?), it might’ve been the most embarrassing car to be seen in. If you loved anime and Fast & Furious 20 years ago, that’s…
“But when can we get normal levels of power.”
A slide show? Seriously?
The kind of thinking that led to the Razor Blade Wars.
I would love to know how this idea was originally pitched.
So far, and this is just from what I’ve seen, its just happening to Bronco owners. Owners of other vehicles with the same engine have been chiming in and have reported no failures. One Edge owner I saw reported in and was all good after 4 years and 40,000 miles. Its strange.
leave it to GM to be two decades behind itself.
