You could probably also get an F150, or a Mustang V6 (meme notwithstanding) around that price. Just because it costs the same doesn't mean it's comparable or meant to do the same thing.

I never would have guessed that. (For that matter, I never would have considered a Ford until this Euro-Focus came out.)

Not up on the Ford Canada site. I doubt it'll get to $35k (to start with), but it'll probably start at $29,500 or so to compete at the same price point as the Mazdaspeed3.

OK, how about this: For $500 less, I could get a Mazdaspeed3, with a touch more power, and a wagon instead of a hatch. At least that's a fair fight (and a relevant one).

OK... Focus ST, 5 doors, manual, lotsa power, $24,500.

What, that was *designed* to look like that? Yeeesh.

...especially on their smaller cars.

Mitsubishi Mirage: 1.2L 3-cylinder mated to a CVT? The US can take it - I don't want it in Canada. I don't want to have to look at it, either! Blergh.

No bed?!? Where am I going to flake out and smoke a bowl? This is really harshing my mellow, man. I'm hungry.

Would a mullet even fit in a Mazda3? Where's the crescent-shaped dome window supposed to go? Does not compute.

It's not a domestic van with a V8. That's where that paint belongs. CP

I'm going to say Detroit. Yes, the Motor City.

I'd take even Pacific Standard over Choose-Your-Own.

All kinds of sketchy... and that was even before the ad was deleted. This ain't just a crackpipe... this is a busted sewer main spewing effluvent in the middle of a cold snap.

...but it's still an Accord. Meh.

IT'S NOT A TUMOR! IT'S NOT!!

You weren't the only one. Only your comment clued me in. (Although I did wonder about the "7 years"...)

Oh. Yes.

Social acceptance. No, really. Take the Prius... yes, it's fuel efficient. If it sold in the same numbers as the Volt did, it would be a flop. But it took off, and eventually became the defacto greenie halo car for Hollywood stars and beyond. Social acceptance, peer pressure, fad... call it what you will, but
