@dasred: I don't remember that, but I defer to superior wisdom.

@ShanaLD: I'm working through a lot of the same things.(I quit smoking a year ago and started shoving junk food in my mouth as a crutch. Wah.) I just bring it up because I'm pretty sure they've been there for more than six months. Severe conditions, limited food, people tend to lose weight. A lot of guys(myself

Good episode, and although I really despise the whole "the pressure of command is eating me up" storyline. They keep me interested and wanting more. I like the ship having a mind of it's own. Any million year old super-computer would have more than enough time to achieve sentinence(sic?) It makes sense to me anyway.

@Jared Bennett: Maybe, but I was thinking more along the lines of how they've ret-conned certain things in the comics to "agree" with the movies.

I bet this is some kind of tie-in with the upcoming 3rd movie. Trying to get all the stories to jibe.

@brett108: They have to bring in a "Cruise" box?

I knew Daniel Radcliff wasn't very tall but, damn he looks like a hobbit or something.

@FrankN.Stein: Oh Frank, you always have the best posts.

Personally, I think it more likely we're headed towards Mike Judges' " Idiocracy"

How can something be both beautiful and ugly at the same time?

@Rowdy Roddy Peeper: I'm sorry I misjudged you. I thought you were a thoughtful person I guess I was wrong.

That was a better than average answer to a fairly complicated question from Ms. Wilde.

All I can say is be glad you don't have to dodge bullets on your way to, or pray that no one bombs the polling places in this country.

@Rowdy Roddy Peeper: I'm pretty sure that the Republican congress of the 90's made it damn near impossible to live on permanent welfare anymore. So that point is moot. Also, most recipients of welfare are young, poorly educated women with children, but you're probably right we should definitely make their lives more

@txtphile: I was thinking this same thing at my last family reunion.

Yeah, but the local chimpanzee won't quit bumming smokes off the tourists at the zoo.

@kitsuneconundrum: It's not that they represent the best of us, they represent what we really are. You can't forget that even 50,000 years from now we will still have more time (as a species) as "savages" then as civilized beings. Humans always have been and will be cavemen at our core.

Absolutely spot on about A&E's "Andromeda Strain" What a dreadful piece of shit.

@MrGOH: It's probably not any cheaper, but it'll do exactly what they want it to do.
