But she didn't see how it was good at all. She pointed out that he was falling apart, so it wasn't. I thought her points about what it allegedly provided that was good were just the barest intro to why it was terrible—which is how Philip heard it too. That's why he said, "But…?"

Elizabeth always gets a lot of mileage out of presenting herself as something rather than doing it. The first season her emotions were all over the place. It was her who broke the rules to let Gregory die the way he wanted, her who set up that crazy kidnapping in revenge for the death of her father figure Zhukov, her

I was the same way. I remember being like…magic on television? Why would that be something to watch?

When Elizabeth is with Young Hee she goes by the name Patty, so it's the Young Hee stuff they refer to as the Patty operation.

Nope, Elizabeth wasn't jealous of Sandra. More of EST, actually, maybe.

I think they brought it up for a number of reasons. One, it was a storyline that needed checking in on. Two, the son might not even exist, so here Gabriel was backing off on that pressure to Philip. He was giving him a win, telling him his son was home safe and maybe Philip actually made that happen. Plus it reminded

We don't now why she's trying to get close to her, but presumably it's because of her husband or brother or someone. Young Hee isn't an agent, she's an actual Mary Kay saleswoman.

Of course they had. That's why she threw him out.

She wasn't badass, she was shellshocked. Philip took the cigarette out of her hand and she didn't realize it until a minute later. She was not in control.

I think we can assume he got rid of it. It's not like he'd need it or would bring it into the house.

But Elizabeth didn't have that with Gregory. The cause and their total commitment to it was a big part of their relationship. She ultimately broke up with him because that wasn't who she was. With Gregory she had to be this person who wasn't really a wife and mother and that wasn't her.

Technicality, but the child didn't result from the affair, if the child actually exists. The kid was conceived when he was Irina's boyfriend, before he met Elizabeth.

I wouldn't go by that. I think she's just a full cast member so she's listed in all of them whether she's in it or not.

I think they mean she wasn't aware that the words about loving your cage actually resonated with her. It wasn't just that her patience was gone, it was that she was desperate to get back to the hardass she feels she used to be.

LOL! That was exactly the analogy in my head. The Pastor Tims are now that whole pack of cigarettes.

Yeah, I think it's more like they spoke it at home or something. Probably more like he's been bilingual his whole life, since he'd have been surrounded by English since birth.

Right, but this is Elizabeth's way of looking at the world that isn't always objective. This is how she dealt with Paige and the church too. All she could see was that the church was stupid and sucked in gullible people. She couldn't understand what Paige herself was getting out of it (until she found a way to see it

Right, but I think that was because she wasn't aware of how threatening she found it. She was going into it thinking she could be objective, but point out the scam. But really she wasn't objective about it at all and couldn't really deal with the idea he was getting something reasonable out of it.

Yeah, that's what I love about the whole Philip/Martha/Elizabeth stuff. Elizabeth isn't trying to be condescending, but she doesn't get that the attitude she needs to have to deal with it is exactly what Philip is rejecting. Her trying to put in a box why Philip liked Martha and cared what happened to her was exactly

I thought her whole manner in the lead up there was the way she acts when she's getting ready to stick a knife into Philip. It's how she was after finding out about Irina too. She puts on this fake casual persona, "But you know…it's just so…manipulative…" And Philip sees exactly what she's doing and responds
