They were lying to each other as well, then.
They were lying to each other as well, then.
Most of them are talking about Martha—they specifically talked about the secretary they were getting out. Tatiana on the phone seemed to be only referring to the rat. I think she's the only one who knows about it.
Why would he think she was Nina? Nina was returning to the USSR as a traitor. He knew she was under arrest already. Nina's somebody being spirited out of the country so that she won't go to jail.
People keep talking about how Martha isn't a true believer, but haven't some of the really effective moles been doing it for money? So not only are they not heroic but they've already cost a lot? I just mean, I don't think heroism is always a factor in whether or not they're willing to set a person up with an…
That man was an Illegal like P&E and his wife was an unauthorized person who basically stumbled on them. We didn't see the Rezidentura talking about exfiltrating her, though. Claudia just told her they'd do it and then she wound up dead.
Interesting—to me the kids seem very much like copies of the parents with Elizabeth being Paige and Henry being Philip (not exactly the same of course). Elizabeth often seems to just think Henry's odd, but she's pointed out that Paige is like her in the way she threw herself into the church and political protests.
Larrick killed him in season 2. But right before he died he hit the self destruct buttons on the phones.
Of course, but I was taking "American spy" to mean she was really American, like Philip and Elizabeth are really Russian. There are no American Illegals in Russia faking their way into the KGB with false identities.
Of course, this would explain why Philip tastes it and centers in on what's strange about it.
Nope, walked right out of the safehouse and then called her KGB contact number and gave them her location so Clark, her handler, could come and get her and get her out of the country.
Yes, I remember everything. She thought she was working for an auditor for a while, but continued providing intel after she knew she wasn't. They don't have to pin a medal on her. They've provided a haven for people who helped them out for money. I'd say Martha's being driven by love of an agent is just as good.
She's not at all kidnapped. She called the KGB from the park and was waiting for Clark to come get her.
She didn't know, but she still gave them a lot of stuff and declared for them when it came down for it.
They've talked openly about her being a secretary from the FBI he's a woman. I think it's likely they were all informed about her bolting since they were out looking at Philip was waiting there with Joan. If she wasn't supposed to have that info she wouldn't have said it, I would guess.
I think it would be more than awkward. She'd be a wanted criminal and France might hand her right over.
I think they have established them knowing things about the business and doing things there. We just rarely see them during the days they're there. Philip even appears to have a certain flair for it. Not only did we see him knowing just what trip to sell to Stan's bachelor party guy, but when Elizabeth was gone for 3…
Her name's Joan. :-)
They tracked Martha to Clark's apartment building, figured out from process of elimination with the super which apartment she was going to and got Clark's name from the lease.
It's in season 1. She says if something happened to them Henry would be fine because he's like Philip and will be fine no matter what. But she thinks Paige is fragile, somehow.
Yeah, I think Philip, especially, has always been a puzzle for her. She thought he was a traitor for years because he liked America too much and only recently started to see that he just doesn't express his loyalty the same way she does. She tends to think that if she acted a certain way it would mean X, therefore…
