Same thing with my 04 Jetta bought in 05. Still driving it today with 206k. Same clutch even. Take care of it and it will take care of you.
You only really hear about people who have issues. You rarely hear people bragging about how great their car is (unless you’re on Jalopnik)...
It’s true, in all my other cars I feel so restricted, I’ve driven the TDI 600+ miles non-stop, from San Diego to Lake Tahoe. Used to do the trip every month. Even with the Outbacks damn near 18gallon tank it still can’t touch the TDIs range....especially around town.
I have to agree. I loved my 2010 TDI Golf but it was hard to pass up a $15K offer on a 6 year old car. I loved getting 40MPG while doing 80MPH, filling up only once a week despite my long commute, and torque. Oh, the torque! I have a friend who has/had a 2014 VW Passat TDI and he would get a little over 700 miles on a tank of diesel. He loved that car.
Silvercar is awesome. If you travel and have never rented through them, do yourself a favor and try them out. Such an amazing experience compared to regular rental companies.

Matter of fact, just drove a Jeep Renegade with less than 300 miles on it all around Boston earlier this week. …
Hardly anyone drives a V8 anymore. And just because it’s a V8, does not make it a race car. If someone said, “I daily drive an Ariel Atom”, I’d think that’s just as silly as dd a race bike.
I’m your size and I did. Left my 1000cc sportbike at home and rode it EVERYWHERE. Sooo much fun.
$3,299 NIB... I’m not sure if that includes assembly.
I’m 6'3", 250lbs. Should I get one?
Hikers will never be happy with dirtbikes, silent or not.
That’s all fine and good until the NIMBYs shut down your track or trails, right?
Came for the video, disappointed.
