How about we get the city to limit traffic to LOCAL USE ONLY on residential streets, and FORCE cars to use the crowded arteries designed for them. My neighborhood is clotted with these speed bumps (which plow the front of my car into the ground because they're too tall), roundabouts and other impediments to us LOCALS

Gaming the waze system is probably on the order of 730x faster then going through your local organizations to install a speed bumb.

When people that live on the streets drive on them, they are usually mindful of the speed limits, children, pets, etc. When some yahoo that us just cutting around traffic because he's in a hurry does, he's usually doing 2x the speed limit and doesn't care he just ran over your kid's ball.

I used to live near a street people would cut through off the main roads as a shortcut to beat a light. They wouldn't stop at the stop sign and would often speed. I don't blame these people for doing this at all with this app.

No shit, but residential streets aren't designed to handle freeway-levels of traffic. I'd be pissed if Waze was doing this to my street, and you would be, too.

To be fair, this is what happens when you socialize an function. The residents aren't reporting fake collisions to police, they're playing the system to avoid extra traffic running down their side streets. Nothing's actually preventing this traffic from rolling through, they're just stopping Waze from encouraging

you sound like an apartment dweller.

I think it was awsome to see the COTA grandstands about 99% full with thousands more sitting in the grass around the track as compared to the grandstands at the NASCAR race being about 70% full.
