A big dumb fuckin’ high-performance pickup truck or SUV. American, Euro, whatever. Pick any one, fuck them all. Ugly, inept handling compared to the same drivetrain in a regular car, oversized, overweight.

If I recall, the manual states 3yrs/30k miles for the timing belt. PCNA recommend checking the tension every 15k. Newer belt materials stretched it to 45k, and (IIRC) 60k for the 968.

Being a former owner of a 380SL, I will confess I love them. They aren’t that fast or sporty but give off a lovely muted V-8 burble and guiding that long bonnet down the road makes you feel like a king.

Everyone is a responsible gun owner until they’re not.

One look at those stupid wheels and immediate NO DICE! Didn’t read a word about it. Tells me all I need to know about the owner. Way to fuck up a beautiful car, ya dumb ass. Sheesh!

It’s usually materials, power and tech. A 2-series or CLA will be a much nicer place to be than the equivalent Cruze even on their lowest trim though, so not the best example to use.

The overall tone of the ad, the wording makes me hesitate. On the face of it, seems like it should be a NP, but the seller comes across as a dickhead and $6200 is too much to put up with the hassle! So No Dice because I wouldn’t want to deal with this guy and his boy-racer modifications.

1st gear: I think the story could be rewritten as “Volkswagen Group (“VAG”) decides to build two EV platforms instead of one catering to two different types of drivers.

I’m seeing this across the automotive landscape. Though forums are still alive and well, I don’t see the same level of activity on them as I did 10-15 years ago. At least, not on the numerous VW forums I’ve read over the years. Social media has taken the place of a lot of forum activity…”build threads” are few and far

If only there was, say, like an off topic yet still somewhat car centric forum for users that was adjacent to a main automotive site. #dontbeanherb

Interesting. He made it look like he had the fastest car on the track by a lot. I’m sure he is highly skilled but in these types of races I never know enough about the other cars out there to really gauge how they would stack up against each other performance wise. Fun to watch though.

looks like Turbo Teen mid-transformation

i gave it a 3/7 for the same points. it’s well documented at this point that the trio knows how to make a story out of literally nothing. this was just a bunch of obviously-incorrect biases drunkenly strung together just long enough to make amazon pay for it.

It’s decent, good even, but very good seems like a stretch. The “hero” cars they buy have nearly no relevance to the rest of the episode as there’s no central narrative thread, the different bits are uneven and either too short (propeller car) or too long (rallycross). Most egregious of all, one of the sketches is

Ah, the PT Cruiser drop top, the indisputably worst convertible in recent memory. I truly, genuinely hate these things.

Here’s a MUCH better execution of a wide body GT https://www.pinterest.com/pin/162762974021462069/

The 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300sl fuel tank held 34.4 US gallons.

This certainly felt like this was a ‘has to finish under Green no matter what scenario about it’ and the FIA contrived that and Hamilton paid the price.

I have to wonder if F1 didn’t just “jump the shark”......

My only protest is that wife beating, opponent assaulting, emotional abusing c*nt Jos Verstappen got any joy out of this.
