At the time we did, taking all versions together it was the best selling car in the UK through much of it’s production run. What it never had was much of a competition history like the Mini, and indeed the rival Ford Escort and Cortina, to make them particularly collectible today.

To be fair it’s an emmissions law that unduly penalises manufacturers with relatively small sales and small model mixes. The regs are trying to get average CO2 down to 95g/km average for a fleet, and the Jimny is quite high but not that high at 154g/km. If Toyota were selling it no issue as they have all the Prius and

I wonder if Ferrari maybe had some influence on the IMSA people here. Sure they see a market to sell their LMH hypercar to US based privateers?

Remember discussing this with a mate who races an Austin Healey Sprite who had the same idea. It can be done the issue is they are quite narrow so it rather limits what cars would fit in a lower deck garage.

It is a discussion that is dominating the news here. Although the number of infections is going up the rate of those being infected needing to be admitted to hospital and number of resulting deaths is not going up by anything like the same rate and certainly not like it was in January , which according to the

It seems to have a slightly odd nose up stance, but even with that at this price it has to be NP.

The first question on these is how rusty is it?. The second question on these is how rusty is it really? If it does turn out to be mostly rust free (fairly unlikely for a Merc of this era) then this is NP. They’re fun to drive especially with a manual although the engine is not exactly smooth as you might expect it to

My guess is Leclerc is probably trying to push the car a little beyond it’s limits which is leading to more mistakes than it should. Ferrari also have historically liked drivers will to push the limit to the maximum and beyond even if it leads to the occasional mistake, look how canonised Gilles Villeneuve still is at

Not sure any SUV looks good in white (makes me think of failed UN peacekeeping missions), but quite appealing otherwise.

With not much to go on I’m going with NP on the basis that is it rare and interesting enough that someone might want to spend that on one. not sure I would though.

Can’t speak for the auto industry but I know from my companies dealings with Brazil it is one of the most difficult markets to work in. Government is constantly changing the regulatory framework which is more complex than almost all of the other developed nations, and it is diffuclt to have any stability.

There’s a 6 speed manual one currently on BaT bid to $25,850 at the time of writting. It has double the miles and, in the pictures at least, doesn’t present as nicely as this. I suspect the not especially highly tuned V12 is more suited to an auto anyway NP.

These were absolute rubbish when new, badly made, bad to drive (especially the not very confidence inspiring brakes). ND at any price for me.

I’m not talking about now I’m talking about when they first came out back in the 90's, they were an image game changer for Audi then.

I don’t think a Lexus based on the GR86 is what they need but the Audi TT as a fairly affordable sports coupe, did wonders for turning Audi from a slightly staid brand into a genuine BMW rival (especially in Europe).

Could be worse such as when a company famous for its reliability has to sell this - the Honda Crossroad a rebadged Land Rover Discovery.

I think the hope is to even up the playing field a bit. While the racing has been good this year realistically the winner is only likely to come from two teams (and the same two teams have won every drivers and constructors championship the last decade ). If you add the rule changes to the budget cap being introduced

Although Amati never got off the ground these were sold as part of the brief run of the Mazda Xedos premium sub brand in Europe. The smaller Xedos 6 which never came to the US was perhaps the more interesting car but I always quite liked the styling of both models.

Now playing

I think Gran Turismo had a big effect but the influence of the GTR comes from a number of things and really from the R32 rather than the R34. Firstly the R32 obliterated the opposition in the Australian Touring car championship and the Barthurt 1000, to the point they changed the rules to ban it. Secondly at the time

I’m sure there are arguments that can be made for most eras that there is good and bad car design in them. Personally I think the current trends epecially for crossovers and coupe crossovers is a poor design direction and there are very few of these I can say are good looking cars (whisper it I quite like the look of
